New York Parenting Programs

Family Resource Centers

The Family Resource Centers of Tioga County provide drop-in centers where parents and young children can access both formal and informal education, services and support. Formal programming includes workshops on parenting skills, family financial management, nutrition, health and safety. Informal education and support takes place when children and parents play together, staff listens to parent concerns and offers information and resources, and parents offer support and information to other parents. Collaboration between the parents and community is the foundation upon which the Family Resource Centers continue to accomplish the identified performance targets. CCE Tioga is committed to continue work on defining the Family Resource Center (FRC) as a model for parenting education and to support others in learning about and implementing the Family Resource Center model.
